Ephesians 4:32; And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

Buea Central Prison – 2023 Annual Outreach Report

Overview

Each year, Women Who Pray Global undertakes a nationwide outreach initiative to support the less privileged, orphans, and vulnerable women and children. A town and specific location are selected at random for visitation, where we provide spiritual, emotional, and material assistance according to identified needs.

2023 Outreach Summary

In the heart of the rainy season of 2023, Women Who Pray Global ministered at the overcrowded Buea Central Prison of about 400+ inmates , reaching men and women aged 18 to 50+, including a pregnant inmate in her late 20s living in difficult conditions.

Our team prayed with inmates, shared the Word of God, worshiped through music, listened to their stories, and distributed Bibles in the hope that reading the Bible will help them turn a new life. We provided food items—garri, rice, sugar, beans, Maggi, and oil—along with soap, warm socks, clothing, and monetary gifts. One week later, we returned with baby supplies and clothing for the expectant mother.

The visit deeply moved both inmates and wardens, who expressed heartfelt gratitude and tears. We remain committed to serving the forgotten and abandoned through prayer, presence, and donations.

2025 Outreach Summary | Orphanage, Makepe Missoke, Douala

2022 Outreach Summary

This was one of the most challenging outreaches we’ve ever had. The Makepe Missoke area is flood-prone and largely unconducive for living, especially in the rainy season. The orphanage shelters over 400+ IDPs from the North West and South West Regions, orphans from across Cameroon, and abandoned women and children from the streets.

We found children sleeping on bare floors in damp, overcrowded rooms. In response, we provided 8 bunk beds, along with food items—beans, corn, rice, cooking oil—back-to-school supplies, bedsheets, spoons, and plastic plates and many more items.

We toured the facility, held one-on-one talks with the children, sang, prayed, and played games together. While no report can fully capture the suffering we witnessed, the children’s joy and gratitude were profound.

Women Who Pray Global remains committed to bringing hope, prayer, and practical relief to the forgotten.
